Rocks, Minerals, Gems and Metal Detectors In Prospect Park
WEEK 1: July 8 - 12
We explore the amazing life in Prospect Park! We learn how to find and identify rocks and minerals and we go metal detecting!!!! This program includes fun nature art projects and games in the park!
Birds of Prospect Park
WEEK 2: July 15 - 19
Which birds summer in Prospect Park? We use monoculars and binoculars to find their nests! We explore the best birding sites in the park while learning about the native plants these birds need to survive. We learn to identify edible weeds while hiking the park! This program includes fun nature art projects and games in the park!
Survival Week in Prospect Park!
WEEK 3: July 22 - 26
We learn how to build an outdoor shelter, make and use tools, and find food in the wild while avoiding poisonous plants! We learn cardinal directions with and without a compass. We identify native plants and eat and bring home lots of delicious weeds! This program includes fun nature art projects and games in the park!
NATURE CAMP in Prospect Park
WEEK 4: July 29 - August 2
We explore amazing plants and animals in the park! We find the oldest trees, learn about birds of prey, identify rocks and minerals and learn about edible and poisonous plants while hiking Prospect Park. Kids will grow their own take-home mushroom farms and adopt city trees! Nature art and games included!

WEEK 5: August 5 - 9
We explore nature at amazing sites - the shells at Coney Island beach, the plants at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the animals of Prospect Park Zoo, the fish at The Aquarium and the rocks and minerals of Prospect Park!

WEEK 6: August 12 - 16
We explore amazing plants and animals in the park! We find the oldest trees, learn about birds of prey, identify rocks and minerals and learn about edible and poisonous plants while hiking Prospect Park.
